Watch a video tutorial on creating a Flow Email, or follow along with the step-by-step instructions below.
Create a New Flow Email
To create a new Email Flow, click Email from the left menu in your Leap Account.
Click the + New flow button at the top of the page to begin creating a new flow, or select a previously created Flow under the Flow tab to edit.
Apply a Template
Choose between a number of pre-made Flow Email Templates to help you write amazing, engaging email copy, quickly! We’ll choose the Warm Welcome Email Template in this example.
TIP: Skip the AI help, and click the Build from scratch button to create your own Flow email.
Select your Flow Email Trigger
Next, select a trigger for your email flow
Here, you can rename your flow, and select an event trigger for your flow. The trigger could be when customers claim a certain lead magnet, or purchase a specific paid product in your Leap Account.
Customize your Flow Email Content
After you’ve set the trigger, click on the next Step in the Flow on the right side to begin customizing your Email
If you’ve selected a template, you’ll next see the pre-made email template content!
You can edit the subject and body message, including changing the formatting using the Text Formatting bar.
Further customize your Email and add Automatic Formatted Fields such as your contact’s name and the product name:
Quickly and easily modify the content of your email using AI optimization!
Add Links to your content, either as text, or as a button!
TIP: Don’t forget to click Save (top right of the page) to make sure your changes are saved.
Final Touches: Setting your Email Timing
Adjust the timing of when the email will be sent after the flow is triggered (e.g. 7 days, 1 hour, or 10 minutes). If you’re unsure, you may simply keep the recommended setting.
TIP: Emails are more likely to be “seen” and noticed by your users if you leave some time between the trigger action (purchasing or signing up for your Product) and the next email in the flow to arrive. For this reason, it’s suggested to set your email to trigger a minimum time of 5 minutes after the trigger.
Take your new Email Flow for a test-drive!
Send yourself a preview of your new Flow Email to the email address associated with your Leap account by clicking the Send me a preview button.
Add Additional Emails to your Flow
Now that you’ve created a single automated Flow Email, consider adding a second email (or additional emails) to your flow, click + Add email.
This will open up a new Email you will be able to modify, and add content for, as a follow-up email to the first. You’ll be able to consider the trigger, timing, and message for this Email as separate from any other emails in this Flow.
TIP: Before adding a new email to your flow, be sure to click Save (top right of the page) to save all changes on your current email.
Set your Email Flow Live!
Once you’re ready to publish your flow, and all emails within your flow chain are set the way you’d like them, you can change your Flow Email status from Draft to Active, to send your Email Flow to your Contacts.
To do so, select the Draft button from the top of the Email Flow page:
You’ll be prompted to confirm that you’re ready to set your flow to “active.”
Once you click Do It!, emails will be sent to contacts that fulfill your “trigger” criteria going forward. (Note: Flows will NOT automatically be sent to existing contacts that have fulfilled your trigger criteria. If you’d like to send to existing contacts, we suggest creating a Broadcast email.)
If you’re not ready or if you want to pause sends, click No thanks and you’ll be back to Draft mode again for further adjustments!
