Why should I set up a Payment Processor in The Leap?
Connecting a payment processor is an important step in being able to receive Leap Payouts from the funds you make by selling your Products in your Leap Store!
If you do not connect Stripe to the Leap and complete Stripe Setup:
- You will not be able to sell Products in your Leap Store, they may only be available as free.
- You will not be able to receive funds from your Products in your Leap Store.
What payment processor platforms are available and compatible with The Leap?
At this time, the only payment processor available with The Leap is Stripe.
Can I use The Leap even if I don't connect Stripe?
Absolutely! One of the main use cases for The Leap is the creation of lead magnets for capturing your audience's email addresses. These can be created and promoted on The Leap without the need to connect a payment provider. Your audience will simply submit their email address as "payment" for access to the product, meaning no cash transaction has to be processed.
Can I connect an already existing Stripe account (a Stripe account already in use) to The Leap?
No, by connecting a Stripe account within The Leap, you are in fact creating a new Stripe account which will manage your transactions for that singular Leap Account.
Can I have more than one Leap Account connected to a single Stripe account?
No, each Leap Account can only have a single Stripe account connected.
How can I access and manage my customer’s payments and transactions?
Once you have connected Stripe, you will have direct access to your own personal Stripe Standard dashboard, where you can view all The Leap transactions, pending amounts, and total earnings to manage your payments. Log into your Stripe account dashboard using the email address you used when creating your Leap Stripe account, to track all Sales.
You can also view and export a record of your total sales with The Leap, by referencing the Contacts area of your Leap Account. Check out our article on Contacts for more information about this!
How can I arrange a refund to a customer?
If you would like to manage a payment received from a customer by issuing a refund on the transaction, our Support team can assist to manage this for you! Simply simply send an email request to our Support team and we'll facilitate it for you.
Can I offer my products in any other currency?
Sales are currently offered in USD as a default currency, but you can enable purchases from an alternate country and currency by enabling Flexible payment & selling options from the Settings > General area of your Leap Account after initiating Stripe Setup. You will then be able to adjust the currency and Country from within your Stripe account.
How can my audience receive payment receipts?
You are able to provide your customers a receipt, from within your Stripe account. Sign into your Stripe account, then access your Transactions from the Transactions tab, and click the three dots to the right of the transaction details.
Here you may select to generate a receipt to your customer:
Are there any fees associated with transaction processing in The Leap?
The Leap Platform does not deduct any processing fees for any transactions or payments processed through The Leap.
However, Stripe has a standard processing fee they apply to all transactions.
From Stripe Help regarding Stripe Processing Fees:
Stripe processing fees vary depending on the service and method used. Standard fees for online card payments are typically a percentage of the transaction amount plus a fixed fee, such as 2.9% + 30 cents per charge for US-based transactions.
Fees may differ internationally and can include additional charges for currency conversion or cross-border payouts. For platforms using Stripe Connect, there are options to either let Stripe handle pricing, where fees are charged directly to connected accounts, or to handle pricing independently, which involves a charge for account activity and payouts. Moreover, dispute fees apply when a cardholder disputes a transaction. For businesses with special requirements or processing large volumes, custom pricing options may be available. For details, you can refer to Stripe's pricing page.
As such, you can expect a 2.9% + 30 cents per fee deducted from all transactions processed in The Leap.
When will I be paid out from Stripe?
As the Leap doesn’t set a Payout Schedule, this is something you are able to manage within your Stripe account. Stripe typically schedules your initial payout for 7-14 days after you successfully receive your first payment. Your first payout might take longer, depending on your industry risk level and country of operation. Subsequent payouts follow your account’s payout schedule.
Refer to Stripe Docs for help to find out when your next Payout is available:
