What is a Mini-course Product?
Think of a Mini-course as a quick, digital lesson. Help your audience achieve a specific learning outcome in no longer than 30 minutes. For a Mini-course, you should think in terms of “small promises” – i.e. what's one thing your audience can learn, achieve, or get done in just 10, 20, or 30 minutes?
Why should I create a Mini-course?
Creating a traditional online course can take a lot of time. Between the content, formatting, design, marketing, and branding, there are many moving pieces in the process that can bog you down – especially if you’re a perfectionist!
Thankfully, the Leap Mini-Course is easier, faster, and more cost-effective to create. Design your own “snackable” e-learning product!
Mini-courses are short, snappy courses designed for mobile-based micro-learning. They contain a mix of video media, text and images, as well as quizzes and links to downloadable content.
What’s a good example of a Mini-Course Product?
Let’s say your area of expertise is flexibility and mobility training for rock climbers. You might want to create a Mini-course based on the specific learning outcome of improving hip-flexibility for better climbing performance, which could include the following chapters:
Chapter 1: Understanding the Importance of Hip Flexibility
Chapter 2: Anatomy and Mechanics of the Hip Joint
Chapter 3: Effective Hip Flexibility Exercises
Chapter 4: Integrating Hip Flexibility into Climbing Training
Chapter 5: Preventing and Managing Hip Injuries

Creating your Mini-course Product
Start in your Leap Account by selecting Products from the left menu, then click the
+ Add product button in the top right of the Products Page.
Find Mini-course within the Product Options, then click Build Options.
Next, you may select whether you want to build your Mini-course with AI, or create it from scratch.
In this example, we’ll be generating content with AI, and selecting + Generate with AI.
To create a Mini-course from scratch, select + Add instead.
Next, enter some information about your Mini-course topic to help generate some amazing content.
Fill in the topic of your expertise, and be as specific you’d like! When you’re ready, click Next.
TIP: Click Skip, I don’t need any help at any time to begin creating your Mini-course from scratch.
Next, you’ll be asked to select the learning outcome you’d like your audience to learn in this Mini-course.
If you don’t see an AI generated topic that’s exactly what you need, select the + Show me more option to generate more AI suggestions.
Or, use the Enter your own option to add the specific topic you’d like to teach in this Mini-course.
When you’re ready, click the yellow Let’s do it! button.
Let your AI generator work for a few moments, and your Mini-course will generate beautifully, using AI!
You’ll see a selection of cards with auto-filled images and content, with spaces to upload video content you create.
Navigate the cards
Move through cards using the arrows:
Reorder the Cards
Choose the order in which your cards appear by selecting Reorder, then selecting to move the card left or right.
Select Done when it looks right!
Edit the Card Images
Replace the image within a card by first selecting the image icon.
Select the trash icon to delete the existing image.
You may replace the card image in two ways:
1) Click Upload Image to upload your own image from your mobile device or PC.
2) Generate a new image with The Leap by selecting Search Unsplash and entering the topic of your Mini-course. Select the new image from the list that appears.
Once you’ve chosen your new image, format the structure of the image on your card by selecting from the available design templates.
All set? Click the X to exit the Image section.
Add Card Text Content
Adjust the text content of your Mini-course cards by typing in the text window, and using the text formatting options bar:
Edit Card Color Themes
Adjust the color used in any card by selecting the Color Picker icon:
Select the color you’d like from the color picker, or enter a HexCode of your choosing.
Apply your color changes to either the Background or Text area of your card.
To apply these settings to your entire Mini-course, select Apply colors to all cards.
Select X when complete.
Upload Video Content
Within your Mini-course, there are not only text and image cards, but video content cards as well.
Shoot and upload any video content you’d like to include as part of your Mini-course in 16:9 mobile format, then select Add video within the video content cards to upload your video file into your Mini-course. Video recommended length is 2-3 minutes.
Add more Product Cards
Customize your Mini-Course further by adding your own Product Cards! Simply click the +Add button to select from a menu of cards to add! Check out the Leap Guide to Product Cards for full instructions.
Save Your Progress
Save your your adjustments in designing your Mini-course, by scrolling to the top right of your screen, and selecting the Save Mini-course button:
Preview Your Product
Once you’ve saved your Mini-course, some new options appear in the top right hand side of your page.
You may preview how your Mini-course will appear to your following on your Leap Store, by scrolling to the top of your Leap Account and clicking Preview:
Once your Mini-course is saved, you’ll be able to re-adjust the formatting of your Guide anytime from the Build tab.
You’ll also notice two new tabs have appeared: Setup and Market.
