Our referral program is straightforward and rewarding. If you’ve used a referral or affiliate program before, you’ll find this process familiar. If this is your first time, don’t worry — everything will be clear by the end of this guide.
Referral URLs
Once you accept the program's terms and conditions, you’ll get a custom referral link to The Leap’s website. This link cookies anyone who clicks it for 30 days. If they sign up for a Leap account within that time frame, you’ll be credited as the referrer.
- Find your referral link in the "Referrals" tab on your dashboard.
- Your referral link uses a custom code (such as "gmUl7g2U0P") that is connected your Leap account. An example of a referral link is https://www.theleap.co?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=creator&utm_campaign=evergreen&utm_content=theleap&?ref=gmUl7g2U0P, which we've shortened for you to join.theleap.co/gmUl7g2U0P.
- If you choose to shorten your link with another tool, please be sure to test it to ensure tracking is working as expected.
When someone clicks your referral URL and becomes Leap user, thea paying customer of The Leap, you’ll receive a recurring commission based on their plan.
Tiered commission structure
The Leap is a free-first platform, and we've built a commission structure that reflects this. With our dynamic commission tiers, the more free sign-ups you refer during the referral period, the more you can earn on your paid referrals.

Referral period
Every month marks the beginning of a new referral period. Any new users (free or paying) you refer during the referral period count toward establishing your commission rate in that referral period.
Important: Your commission rate applies to ALL of your referred revenue during the referral period, regardless of when the users were originally referred.

Commission rate tiers
Here is the number of free sign-ups you need to refer during the referral period to unlock each commission rate tier:
💎 Diamond (40% commission) - 50 or more free sign-ups
🥇 Gold (30% commission) - 10 or more free sign-ups
🥈 Silver (20% commission) - 2 or more free sign-ups
🥉 Bronze (10% commission) - Less than 2 free sign-ups
Examples
1️⃣ It's March 2025. Up until now, you've referred 100 new users to The Leap. Of those users, 10 are on paid plans. In the March 2025 referral period, your referrals resulted in $270 in revenue for The Leap. You referred 15 new free users during the month, making you eligible for the Gold commission tier. For March 2025, your commission rate is 30% and you will receive a payout of $81. |
2️⃣ It's April 2025. You've now referred a total of 115 new users to The Leap. Of those, 15 are on paid plans. In the April 2025 referral period, your referrals results in $485 in revenue for The Leap. You referred 60 new free users during the month, making you eligible for the Diamond commission tier. For April 2025, your commission rate is 40% and you will receive a payout of $194. |
3️⃣ It's May 2025. You've now referred a total of 175 new users to The Leap. Of those, 25 are on paid plans. In the May 2025 referral period, your referrals results in $755 in revenue for The Leap. You referred 2 new free users during the month, making you eligible for the Silver commission tier. For May 2025, your commission rate is 20% and you will receive a payout of $151. |
How much can you earn?
Referrers can earn up to 40% recurring commission on their referral's monthly payment, and the commission payments continue as long as the customer remains active.
Here’s a breakdown of what you can earn per plan:
- Pro Plan ($19/month): From $1.90 to $7.60 per month
- Elite Plan ($59/month): From $5.90 to $23.60 per month
Remember, your commission rate for all of your paid referrals in a month is determined by how many new free users you refer during that month.
Compounding returns
Since The Leap is designed to help users scale their businesses, referrers benefit from being connected to their referrals in perpetuity. Because commissions are paid out as long as the customer stays on The Leap, the commission you earn compounds over time.
If you had a goal of reaching $500 in monthly recurring commission, here's the number of referrals you would need based on your commission tier:

The referral journey
Here’s a step-by-step look at how a successful referral happens:
- You share your personal referral link with your audience.
- Someone clicks on your referral link and the 30-day cookie is kicks in.
- Once that person signs up for a free Leap account within the 30-day window, you’re credited as the referrer.
- Once that person upgrades to a paid plan (Pro or Elite), you start earning commission on their subscription.
Converting free users to paid users
We convert website visitors into free users at an above average rate, so you should see your count of referrals grow quite quickly. While The Leap does not currently offer a free trial, the free plan is designed to convert free users into paid customers.
Keep in mind that once you refer someone to The Leap, you remain connected to them in perpetuity. Leave it to us from there to work our magic and deliver an experience they're excited to stay for (and pay for).
Once they upgrade, you will automatically start receiving commissions.
